Executive Summary
An atmospheric sounding system (ASAS-RF) manufactured by Aventech Research Ltd. was operated on a trial basis during the 1995 operational spray program. Data from 32 trials are presented. Analyses are given for cases with representative atmospheric stability conditions: (1) spraying above a surface-based inversion; (2) spraying within a surface-based inversion; and (3) spraying beneath an up upper inversion.
Conditions are also described for the application of the insecticide Mimic. The analysis indicated favourable conditions for the first application (13 June) and less favourable conditions for the second application (18 June). These inferences are generally consistent with the results of analyses of deposit data.
